Student Exchange

Live A Language Foundation has supported the Taiwan Youth Ambassador Exchange. Cincinnati Sister City Association has made a student exchange commitment with the government of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Students from the greater Cincinnati area visit New Taipei City for 2 weeks in June and live with a host family. Taiwanese students visit Cincinnati for 3 weeks in November. Since the Taiwanese school calendar differs from Cincinnati’s, students are able to attend school in addition to attending cultural activities and events.

The “home stays” allow students an opportunity to communicate on a personal level resulting in increased understanding of cultural differences. The sharing of information and perspectives builds partnerships between students and their host families. Students testify that they establish life-long friendships and benefit greatly from these educational, travel and cultural experiences which, in turn, helps them with their own school activities.

Cincinnati Public School students from Clark Montessori HS, Gamble Montessori HS, Withrow University HS, and Woodward Career Technical HS, have hosted students and traveled to Taiwan. The cost per student is approximately $2,500.
